Leading the Industry Forward

ABC Board of Directors Share Their Vision for 2025

The planning conference is a time for ABC members to guide the direction of the association to better serve the members and the industry as a whole. The ABC Board of Directors is a crucial part of making decisions for the chapter to focus on for the year.

The 2025 Chairman of the ABC Board and owner of Holsbeke Construction, Chris Holsbeke said in his planning conference welcoming remarks how necessary it is to see a room full of members in the conference room planning for the next several years ahead.

“We’re the ones who see first-hand how the industry is operating and we’re also the business owners who feel the effects of policy hat can be threatening to small businesses,” Holsbeke said. “So, over the next two days, I ask that we come together to think about the needs of the members and of the industry so that we can send Keith and his team back with a road map for the next three to five years.”

This call to action highlights the crucial function of the board in providing strategic direction.

“As a business owner, I have so many employees relying on me to keep work flowing. It’s a lot pressure, but in being here, I bring their voices to the table to work with other business owners and seasoned construction professionals to make a plan to keep the industry strong,” said Mike Peake, president of Action Traffic Maintenance.

In planning to keep the industry strong, Tad Martin, owner of TMX Contracting, feels a particular passion for focusing on political advocacy to ensure Merit Shops have fair representation in the state and nationally.

“We had a great election last year, but it’s crucial as employers and Merit Shops that we keep this momentum for advocacy and continue to educate the member ship about ABC’s strong political influence and the resources they provide us to continue operating our companies,” Martin said.

With a clear focus on advocacy, workforce development and member support, the association is well-positioned to tackle the challenges and opportunities of the future.
